We are honored to highlight Shonna Callahan. Shonna has worked at Basco for over 27 years and her current role is Technical Specialist/Glass Lead. Below are some fun facts about Shonna.
Q: What is your favorite part of your job? A:Talking to people and helping them to install their shower doors. They pay quite a bit for their dream bathroom and I want them to feel good about their shower door when it is done. Q: What is your proudest moment at Basco? A: I think my proudest moment is when I was handed the 25 year award and every day since then. Not many people can say they have worked at a company that long. Basco has been good to me and my family. I wouldn’t have invested that many years in a company if I didn’t truly believe in them. Q: If you could switch jobs with anyone in the company, whose job would you want? A: I have had several jobs over the years and don’t want to switch. Basco is an adventure every day. It may seem like I am do the same thing, but talking on the tech line is a variety and different each time. Q: Tell us a little bit about your family – husband, children, grandchildren? A:My husband, Randy and I will be married 40 years on June 12th. I have three children and seven grandchildren – four granddaughters and three grandsons. I see four of them as often as I like, one I don’t see very often, and two live far away. We were supposed to go visit them but the COVID-19 crisis came on and had to cancel it. But I feel very blessed to have them. Q: When you aren’t working, what’s your favorite thing to do? A: I love spending time with family, crafting, traveling, and good sports, which I miss. Q: What are you looking forward to most when the COVID-19 crisis has ended? A: I look forward to giving my grandchildren hugs. I am a hugger and right now we have to give virtual hugs. I can say staying home has made me appreciate life more. I have spent more time doing things that I normally didn’t have time for. I feel very blessed to be able to do what I love to do.
